Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Reportedly Escape To California After Canada Closes Borders
It seems that the Princ Harry and Meghan Markle, also known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are really embracing their newfound freedom after the now-infamous Megxit earlier this year.
Page Six reports that the couple has now made their way to California, leaving their home in Vancouver Island. Apparently, they secretly left the country by taking a private flight from their bolthole in Vancouver Island and landed somewhere in the Los Angeles Area.
This news comes after both Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and President Donald Trump have announced that they were closing their borders in an attempt to further spread the coronavirus.
While there is no confirmation yet about this news, The Sun says Prince Harry, 35 and Meghan, 38 along with their son, 10-month-old Archie, are looking for houses in the Beverly Hills and Hollywood area.
But, contrary to speculations that they fled Canada due to the virus, it seems that this move has been planned for a while now. Meghan will not feel like a stranger in the area, as she grew up in LA and this is where her mother lives at the moment.
They also have friends who are living in the area, including Oprah Winfrey, more of Meghan's actor and actress friends and even Harry's friend, late-night host James Corden.
We have yet to see pictures of the royal couple in the area, it could be that they are doing some self-quarantine or social distancing, in the light of the news that Prince Harry's father, Prince Charles, has tested positive for COVID-19. The latest picture of the Prince of Wales shows him in good spirits, despite being stricken by the virus, which has now spread all over the world and affected more than 500,000 with the disease.
With Prince Charles isolating himself in Balmoral with his wife the Duchess of Cornwall, the Queen has also decided to self-quarantine with her husband, Prince Phillip.
The last time that Prince Harry met Prince Charles was on March 9, when they were at the Westminster Abbey for the Annual Commonwealth Service. While many were expecting that the couple would go back to the U.K. when news of Prince Charles was released, it seems that they are determined to stay put in California for the time being, especially now with Meghan set to work with Disney to do a voiceover for a documentary about elephants. The money she will get there will be donated to the Elephants Without Borders Charity.
