Barack, Michelle Obama and Springsteens Enjoy Double Date at Barcelona Restaurant
On Thursday, April 27, former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama enjoyed a luxurious European double date with rock legend Bruce Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa. The two couples were spotted dining at Amar, a high-end restaurant in Barcelona, Spain, joined by acclaimed director Steven Spielberg.
The 73-year-old "Dancing in the Dark" singer wore a cream-colored button-up shirt with matching pants, while Scialfa, 69, looked elegant in a black blazer and white skirt adorned with an elaborate fringe. Barack, 61, opted for an olive green jacket over a black shirt, while Michelle, 59, donned a black coat featuring a beaded design on the front.
Spielberg, 76, sported a casual ensemble, wearing dark wash jeans, a blue shirt, a black vest, a matching jacket, and a ball cap.
The restaurant staff at Amar shared the excitement of the evening on social media. One employee posted a photo on Instagram alongside Springsteen and Spielberg, captioning it in Catalan: "Pleasures that this job gives you!!"
While the reason for the high-profile dinner gathering in the vibrant Spanish city remains unknown, Springsteen is slated to perform in Barcelona on Friday, April 28.
This dinner is not the first time the Obamas and the Springsteens have been seen together. The two couples have been friends for years, and in early 2021, the former president and the musician collaborated to launch the "Renegades: Born in the USA" podcast.
The Obamas' and Springsteens' friendship has spanned years, and their recent dinner in Barcelona is just another example of their enduring connection.
