Post Malone Sets the Record Straight on Weight Loss and Drug Use Speculation
Post Malone has once again refuted claims that he is using drugs, as fans continue to express concerns about his significant weight loss. In an Instagram post from Antwerp, Belgium, on Friday, the 27-year-old "Rockstar" rapper addressed the issue head-on.
"Hello everybody, I hope you're having a great night," Malone began. "I wanted to say that I'm not doing drugs, I've had a lot of people ask me about my weight loss and I'd suppose, performance on stage."
The rapper, who is currently on his Twelve Carat Tour, reassured fans that he is having "a lot of fun" and has "never felt healthier." Malone revealed that his decision to change his diet came after becoming a father last June.
"I decided to kick soda, and start eating better so I can be around for a long time for this little angel," he shared. "Next up is smokes and brews, but I like to consider myself a patient man… lol!"
The "Congratulations" rapper also mentioned that he has been working on new music in the studio and is "so excited" for fans to hear it.
In his post, Malone concluded by saying, "I just wanted to say hi, and hopefully I'll be posting more on here, my brain is in a super dope place, and I'm the happiest I've been in a long time." He also offered words of encouragement to his followers, urging them to keep crushing it and spread love.
Although many fans and friends praised Malone for his candid post, some felt he shouldn't have to address the concerns at all. Model Tess Holliday commented, "I'm sorry that you feel like you even gotta clarify but hey, at least you know you are loved regardless!!"
Nearly three months ago, Malone also denied that drugs were behind his weight loss. TMZ reported in February that a source claimed the "Wow." rapper was "not on drugs or sick" and had been following a strict diet and exercise regimen to gain weight for an upcoming movie role.
In March 2020, Malone told his followers he was "not on drugs" after videos of him stumbling on stage circulated. However, Malone has previously struggled with substance abuse, particularly alcohol, and spoke about overcoming his addiction in June 2022 on "The Howard Stern Show."
"Now I just want to be better every f—ing day. All we can do is just don't be a d—head, that's the golden rule," Malone shared at the time.
