Meghan Markle Joins WME, Twitter Users Mistakenly Think It's WWE
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, recently signed with talent agency William Morris Endeavor (WME), sparking some humorous confusion among Twitter users who initially thought she had joined WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment).
When WME announced Markle's signing, some Twitter users admitted they had misread the news. One wrote, "Damn, I thought this said WWE at first," while another said, "Legit thought this said WWE at first." Another user shared their double-take, saying, "I had to look at this twice at first I thought this said she signed with WWE."
Another user joked about the mix-up, saying, "I've only just woken up, and at first glance, I thought this said Meghan was joining WWE, which would have been a really unexpected plot twist. Finishing move - The Royal Elbow."
However, once the confusion cleared, many fans expressed their support and congratulations for Markle's new endeavor. One fan commented, "Go, Meghan! No more dimming your light for people who don't appreciate you! Looking forward to what's coming next!" Another added, "Congratulations to Queen Princess Meghan and her King Prince Harry. You both will continue to make your enemies your footstool starting with that mediocre CharlieTampon."
Others praised Meghan's accomplishments, with one user writing, "Meghan is recognized by professionals in the arts industry, and she is expanding her palette. Well done, Meghan! Continue to shine," while another stated, "Congratulations, Meghan! What a get for WME!"
According to Variety, Meghan's signing with WME is a significant accomplishment for the agency, as several other agencies had been vying for her since she and Prince Harry relocated to California in 2022. Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, Brad Slater, and Jill Smoller will now represent Markle.
In addition to representing Markle, WME will also oversee Archwell's content creation label. Although the agency will explore opportunities in film and TV production, brand partnerships, and overall business-building, it will not focus on acting roles for the Duchess of Sussex.
