Royal Biographer Claims Meghan Markle Didn't Want Prince Harry's Public Kiss
Angela Levin, British journalist and Prince Harry's biographer, has shared her insights on Meghan Markle's recent public refusal of Prince Harry's kiss. Levin appeared on "GB News" with Dan Wootton to discuss the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's attendance at an NBA game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
During the game, the couple found themselves in the spotlight when the kiss cam focused on them. Prince Harry seemed eager to participate, but Markle turned her face away and laughed playfully. Wootton compared Markle's reaction to Princess Diana's similar rejection of Prince Charles at a polo match in 1992 and questioned if Markle's action was intentional.
Levin responded, "I think she didn't want him to kiss her." She suggested that Markle's interest in public displays of affection may have waned, adding, "But she did a huge laugh, you can see this laugh, she opens her mouth wide, and she leans over, [as] if her whole body's laughing. But you know, somebody like me thinks that it's all phony, and she's doing that laughter to sort of tease him. But really, she didn't want him near her."
The royal biographer also noted Markle's absence during Prince Harry's media tour for his memoir "Spare." Levin said it was challenging for Prince Harry to handle interviews and promotion without Markle's support. "She should have been there with him. She should have helped him. She wasn't," Levin commented.
Reactions to Prince Harry and Markle's kiss cam moment on Twitter were mixed. Some agreed with Levin's views, while others found the royal couple endearing. One user wrote, "She was like, 'Stick to the script, Harry! No kiss cam, you know very well your bank account is dry and can't pay for my needs.'" Another commented, "Absolutely she rejected him [on] national television."
However, some fans expressed admiration for the couple. One supporter tweeted, "We love you both so so much. This is peace, love and happiness," and another praised their affectionate appearance, saying they looked "so in love."
