Audience Demands Whoopi Goldberg's Removal from 'The View' Following Tucker Carlson Dismissal Celebration
Whoopi Goldberg is facing backlash from viewers demanding her removal from 'The View' after she celebrated the firing of Tucker Carlson from Fox News, according to RadarOnline.com. Despite being no stranger to controversy, Goldberg's latest on-air antics have pushed some viewers to call for her termination from the popular daytime talk show.
Upon learning of Carlson's dismissal from the conservative network, Goldberg excitedly shared the news with the studio audience. "Word has just come down that Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways," she announced. She then stood up and encouraged her co-hosts and the audience to perform the "wave."
While the studio audience applauded and her fellow co-hosts laughed along, viewers at home expressed outrage on social media, calling for Goldberg's own firing from 'The View' and insulting the long-time co-host.
One displeased viewer tweeted, "Just saw Whoopi Goldberg celebrate Tucker’s leaving FMC. Inside, Whoopi is an ugly, despicable, sub-human."
Another Twitter user called for action from ABC, the parent company of 'The View': "@ABC Hey — This is good. @Fox is being responsible by firing Tucker. CNN is being responsible for firing Lemon. Now it’s your turn @abc @disney and fire toxic Whoopi, Sunny and Anna. And you @msnbc you have way too many toxic hosts to list."
Supporters of Carlson also criticized Goldberg's actions, calling her "petty" and hoping for her "demise." One fan of Carlson tweeted, "It is unfathomable to me that these ladies have an audience at all. Wherever Tucker goes now, his numbers will destroy all others combined. The reins are off and he will speak freely even more so, and these girls are too stupid to see it. And when did Whoopi gain 200 LBS? Yikes."
This incident comes as both Fox News and CNN have recently severed ties with high-profile anchors, with Don Lemon also being let go from his long-standing position at CNN, revealing that he found out about his dismissal from his agent rather than the network executives.
