Amicable Exes: Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux Share Warm Embrace During NYC Gathering
Jennifer Aniston and her former spouse, Justin Theroux, displayed their enduring friendship at a recent dinner in New York City. The pair, who were once married, spent a delightful evening with mutual friends, including Jason Bateman and his wife, Amanda Anka.
In 2015, Aniston and Theroux exchanged vows, but the couple parted ways more than three years later. Photographs captured the duo embracing warmly at the popular restaurant, II Cantinori, where they were seated opposite one another. Aniston, 54, was spotted leaving the Manhattan hotspot with a red rose in hand.
The Murder Mystery star dressed casually for the night out, donning a black cardigan, matching pants, boots, and a black purse. Her ex-husband, 51-year-old Theroux, opted for a dark green jacket, dark jeans, and black boots.
Despite experiencing a brief separation in early 2017, the high-profile exes have maintained a close bond. In a statement released in February 2018, they said, "In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation."
The couple emphasized their ongoing friendship, noting that the decision was "mutual and lovingly made" and that they looked forward to "continuing our cherished friendship."
Aniston, who was formerly married to Brad Pitt, and Theroux began dating in 2011 after working on the film Wanderlust. Theroux proposed on his 41st birthday in 2012. Their friendly rapport is still evident, as demonstrated by Aniston's heartfelt birthday message for Theroux's 50th last August. She shared a photo of a shirtless Theroux wearing a Nike visor, captioning it, "Truly one of a kind. LOVE YOU!"
In an April 2021 interview, Theroux reflected on their relationship, dismissing false rumors about the reasons behind their split. He emphasized that they had "remained friends" after their divorce.
"Look, people create narratives that make themselves feel better or simplify things for them," he commented. Theroux expressed appreciation for their enduring connection, saying, "I'm sincere when I say that I cherish our friendship. We can not be together and still bring each other joy and friendship."
