Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appeared flustered when confronted with his disappointing poll numbers during a trip to Japan, as reported by RadarOnline.com.

DeSantis and his wife Casey are currently on a world tour, with stops in South Korea, Israel, and the United Kingdom. While in Japan, the governor was asked, “Governor, polls show you falling behind Trump. Any thoughts on that?"

Caught off guard, DeSantis replied, “I'm not a candidate, so we'll see if and when that changes.”

A recent Wall Street Journal poll revealed that Trump has the support of about 51% of Republicans, while DeSantis trails with only 38% support.

These findings are consistent with several other polls, leading DeSantis' critics to argue that while he may be popular in Florida, he might have difficulty connecting with voters nationwide.

As previously reported by RadarOnline.com, Trump has not hesitated to publicly attack DeSantis, despite the Florida governor not yet announcing his candidacy.

In a recent ad campaign released by Trump's team, DeSantis was mocked over the claim that he ate pudding with his fingers. The ad features an actor portraying DeSantis, who proceeds to eat pudding with his fingers while a narrator states, “Ron DeSantis loves sticking his fingers where they don’t belong. And we’re not just talking about pudding.”

Although Trump has been performing well in polls, the former president faces multiple investigations and is working with his legal team to defend himself against a 34-count indictment filed by the Manhattan District Attorney.

The charges allege that Trump paid hush money to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to keep her silent in the days leading up to the 2016 election. Trump has denied both making the payment and having a one-night stand with Daniels.
