Selena Gomez has publicly urged her fans to cease their hostility toward Hailey Bieber, and insiders claim it's because Justin Bieber implored his former girlfriend to come to his wife's aid.

The conflict between the two women began in 2018 when the "Yummy" singer left Selena for Hailey, and the pair have been at odds ever since. However, recently Hailey has reportedly received death threats from fans for collaborating with her friend Kylie Jenner in seemingly shading Selena on Instagram and TikTok. As a result, Selena has intervened to put a stop to the animosity.

"Selena has no love for Hailey, but she still has feelings for Justin — who privately begged her to get folks to believe they’ve all made peace,” a source revealed. “It’s not only for Hailey’s sake, but for him!”

According to insiders, the 29-year-old "Despacito" star is desperate to retain his fan base as health problems and career concerns led him to cancel all of his 2022 tour dates.

“Justin is concerned he and Hailey have become the most unpopular couple in Hollywood and is terrified that when and if he is able to come back, his fans won’t be there anymore,” an informant shared.

While Selena, 30, acknowledges that 26-year-old Hailey approached her to help end the hostility, sources say it was Justin's request that ultimately convinced her to ask fans to stop targeting his wife.

“Justin has never been so down, and Selena sees that,” confided an insider. “She’s doing this for him. She couldn’t care less about Hailey!”
