The Kardashian family's star power seems to be waning as they have reportedly been dropped from the exclusive Met Gala guest list, replaced by a cat. The feline in question is Choupette, the late designer Karl Lagerfeld's treasured pet and the only remaining member of his family.

Lagerfeld, who passed away in 2019 at age 85, bequeathed around $13 million to Choupette, making her almost as wealthy as the Kardashian clan.

according to National Enquirer, a source close to the Kardashians said, "They're mortified. This is a massive blow to their egos and an even bigger reality check of their diminishing relevance. Getting bumped for a movie star is one thing. But a house pet? That's a tough one to sell to your Hollywood pals and potential sponsors!"

The Kardashians have been regular attendees at the annual fashion event, but insiders suggest that their overexposure and decreasing ratings have made them less appealing to Met Gala organizer, Anna Wintour. Kim Kardashian's controversial decision to wear Marilyn Monroe's iconic "Happy Birthday" dress to last year's gala may have also hurt the family's chances of being invited back.

In early March, it was reported that Wintour had issued a "NO KARDASHIANS!" directive for the upcoming Met Gala. However, Choupette, Lagerfeld's 11-year-old bluecream tortie Birman cat, faces no such restrictions. An insider stated that Anna "wanted to make it more of an exclusive event."

Sources say that the Kardashian sisters are now blaming each other and their mother, Kris Jenner, for their fall from grace. "Kim's throwing it all back at her family, saying Khloé hasn’t done anything worthy in the last year except have another baby and ripping Kourtney and Travis Barker’s tacky social media displays," revealed an insider.

A representative for the Kardashians countered the claims, stating that some of the sisters or their mother Kris may still attend the event. However, insiders maintain that the Kardashians are already making up excuses to save face.

Khloé Kardashian recently shared her thoughts on the matter, saying, "I have been invited in the past. I just opted not to go. I'm not big on red carpets. I think I've made that very clear!"
