Former President Donald Trump weighed in on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' ongoing dispute with Disney, predicting the entertainment giant might cease investing in Florida or even withdraw altogether. In a scathing post on Truth Social, Trump referred to DeSantis by the derisive nickname "DeSanctus" and accused the governor of orchestrating a "political stunt."

The 76-year-old former president wrote, "DeSanctus is being absolutely destroyed by Disney. His original P.R. plan fizzled, so now he’s going back with a new one in order to save face." He further claimed, "Disney’s next move will be the announcement that no more money will be invested in Florida because of the Governor...That would be a killer."

Trump, the 45th president, also urged DeSantis to focus on Florida's "squatter mess" rather than feuding with Disney.

The conflict between DeSantis and Disney began last year when the company opposed legislation that the governor signed, prohibiting discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third-grade classrooms. Critics dubbed the legislation the "Don't Say Gay" bill, and Disney argued it should never have become law.

In response, DeSantis formed a new board to oversee Disney World in Orlando, effectively ending the company's longstanding self-governance and authority to develop the Reedy Creek Improvement District, which encompasses the theme park. However, Disney executives managed to render the new board powerless just a day before the changeover.

On Monday, DeSantis announced that the Republican-controlled state legislature would pass a bill to nullify the board's actions. He accused Disney of negotiating with itself to secure self-governing status and defying the will of Florida's people.

Meanwhile, the Walt Disney Company revealed plans for its first-ever "Pride Nite" at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, in June 2023. The event celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community and allies, featuring Disney characters, photo opportunities, special menus, and commemorative keepsakes.

In his Truth Social post, Trump also commented on Elon Musk's recent claim that he voted for President Biden in 2020. The former president dismissed the assertion, arguing that Musk was "mending fences" with the Biden administration to secure government subsidies and permits for his various companies.

Musk, the billionaire owner of SpaceX and Tesla, told Fox News' Tucker Carlson that he voted for Biden, although he admitted he wasn't a huge fan. He expressed a preference for "a normal person with common sense" in the Oval Office.
