Reese Witherspoon Puts Love Life on Hold: Actress Prioritizes Family and Career Amid Divorce
Reese Witherspoon is reportedly single after her recent separation from husband Jim Toth but is not eager to jump into the dating pool just yet. A source close to the 47-year-old actress told PEOPLE that finding a new romantic partner is not currently on her list of priorities.
The insider revealed, "Dating isn't really on her mind right now," and added, "She will have friends set her up when she is ready."
Witherspoon and producer Toth, 52, announced their decision to divorce in March after 11 years of marriage. The couple shares a 10-year-old son, Tennessee. Witherspoon also has two children, Ava, 23, and Deacon, 19, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe.
Court documents obtained by PEOPLE showed that Witherspoon cited "irreconcilable differences" as the cause for the divorce, filing on April 1 in the Circuit Court of Davidson County, Tennessee.
A source informed PEOPLE on Monday that Witherspoon's focus is on her children and work following the difficult decision to divorce Toth. The insider said, "Reese is doing much better now though. She has no regrets and is just focused on her kids and work."
The source also mentioned that Witherspoon has a large circle of supportive friends she relies on and that there is no drama between her and Toth, with their primary focus being on co-parenting.
Another source had previously told PEOPLE that Witherspoon "has a lot of support" from friends following the divorce and maintains a positive outlook for the future. They emphasized that the actress is concentrating on her son, as she and Toth want to make the transition as seamless as possible for Tennessee.
The couple announced their divorce in a joint statement on March 24, just days before their 12-year wedding anniversary. In the announcement, they expressed their mutual respect and love for each other and emphasized that their son and family's well-being was their top priority during this challenging time.
Witherspoon recently made her first public appearance since the split, attending the premiere of Apple TV+'s The Last Thing He Told Me on Thursday.
