Country singer Kimberly Perry, formerly of The Band Perry, is thrilled to announce that she is expecting her first child with husband Johnny Costello.

Perry, 39, confirmed the news exclusively with PEOPLE, sharing, "Johnny and I are overflowing with joy to announce this beautiful bundle of love. This is a brand new season for us — new love, new life, new baby, nothing better!" The exciting news comes after The Band Perry declared a hiatus from making music as a group last month.

Following the band's break, Perry joined Records Nashville, officially beginning a new chapter of her career earlier this month.

In June 2021, Perry and Costello tied the knot in a secret wedding. The couple disclosed their union in separate Instagram posts commemorating their six-month wedding anniversary in December.

Perry posted a picture of herself and Costello under red lighting, captioning it, "Wishing everyone a very MARRIED Christmas. Today my love, @juannycostello, and I are celebrating 6 months since 'I do!' "

Perry detailed how she and Costello drove a black Corvette from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on June 17, where they married at midnight. She wrote, "It was wild and wonderful and reminded me all over again that God is the most glorious creator and the master of the most beautiful blueprint for our lives!"

Expressing her love and excitement for the future, Perry concluded, "I love you Johnny and can't wait for forever. , Mrs. Costello."
