King Charles and Prince William Allegedly Shun Prince Harry During Unexpected UK Visit
Prince Harry was reportedly cold-shouldered by his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William, during an unannounced visit to the United Kingdom. Sources claim that both the 74-year-old monarch and his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, 75, refused to meet with Harry, citing their busy schedules as the reason, according to the tabloid Gbloe magazine.
The royal couple allegedly snubbed Harry even after canceling a three-day visit to France. Prince William, 40, was also unavailable during Harry's visit, as he was on vacation and too far from London for a family gathering.
A high-level courtier revealed, "It was no coincidence Charles and William were unavailable when Harry breezed into Britain to take care of some legal matters." The source added that after the criticisms Harry made about the royal family in his memoir, "Spare," and TV interviews, his father and brother are avoiding him because they cannot trust him.
The courtier went on to say that the royal snub serves as a significant rebuff to both Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle. "If he expected to swagger into town, meet to discuss his demands and have Charles roll over saying, 'Whatever you and Meghan want,' he was very much mistaken," the source stated.
Despite being invited to Charles' coronation next month, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have yet to confirm their attendance. "It's like they're holding His Majesty to ransom. But so far Charles and William aren't biting," the insider commented.
Prince Harry, 38, traveled from his $14 million California mansion to attend a hearing at London's High Court, where he is suing a newspaper publisher for allegedly using illegal tactics to obtain information about him and other celebrities. Legal experts claim that a public appearance was not necessary, but insiders suggest that Harry wanted to make a statement.
Choosing to enter through the main door rather than a private entrance, Harry was met by a crowd of cameramen. The courtier noted, "Harry clearly wanted to be seen." However, the palace views his appearance as a public display of defiance.
With the coronation fast approaching, the tension between Prince Harry and his family seems likely to intensify. The courtier concluded, "By snubbing Harry, Charles and William avoided a confrontation—for now. But with the coronation looming, this family war looks set to explode."
