After six years together, Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have parted ways, and fans are speculating that Swift may have hinted at the breakup during her Eras Tour.

The news of the split was exclusively revealed by ET, which learned that the couple ended their relationship amicably a few weeks ago. PEOPLE also reported that a source close to the pair confirmed the news.

A source shared that "the relationship had just run its course," and that this was the reason Alwyn had not been seen at any of Swift's shows.

Currently, Swift is on her Eras Tour, which will head to Tampa, Florida, next week. Fans believe she may have foreshadowed her breakup with Alwyn during her setlist for her Arlington, Texas, show on March 31. Instead of performing "Invisible String," a love song thought to be about her relationship with Alwyn, Swift played "The 1," a breakup track from her 2020 album Folklore.

On stage in Arlington, Swift addressed the setlist change, stating, "One thing we said about The Eras Tour, 'You think you can just go online, you think you can just scroll and know the setlist? You think you can just come prepared?' Let it be said about The Eras Tour: we're tricksy. That's what we are. We enjoy a good, healthy setlist hijinks."

Swift and Alwyn, who began dating in late 2016, have been known for their private relationship. As recently as October, a source told ET that the couple was "doing great" and their "relationship is super strong."

Alwyn, in a September 2018 interview with British Vogue, acknowledged fans' curiosity about their relationship, saying, "I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people."

The couple collaborated on music together during the pandemic, resulting in a Grammy Awards win. Alwyn, under the pseudonym William Bowery, co-wrote several songs on Swift's 2020 sister albums Folklore and Evermore.
