The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, are expected to reveal their decision on whether they will attend the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla soon. With the ceremony at Westminster Abbey only a month away, the couple is facing a "time crunch" to confirm their attendance.

This development comes after US President Joe Biden informed King Charles that he will not be present at the event, but will instead send First Lady Jill Biden as the US representative. A source told The Times, "I hear [the Sussexes] are going to confirm their plans soon, particularly now that Biden has."

In early March, Harry and Meghan mentioned receiving "email correspondence from His Majesty's office regarding the coronation," but have not yet revealed their decision. PageSix reported that the couple is in the process of finalizing plans, with a source stating that Harry "has a lot of questions about how the event will work."

The source continued, "There have been lengthy discussions between the Sussexes and [Buckingham Palace], there is a time crunch on this of course. It's such a historical event and it's hoped that Harry and Meghan will be there." They added that "all families are difficult, but this is no normal family, of course."

Despite the Sussexes not confirming their attendance, palace officials are reportedly operating under the assumption that they will be present. The couple has been included in all coronation-related arrangements, such as transportation, seating, and dining. The Times previously reported that both the Master of the Household's Department and the Lord Chamberlain's Office anticipate Harry and Meghan's presence during the bank holiday weekend.

It remains unclear where the couple will stay if they decide to attend the coronation, especially since King Charles requested they vacate their UK residence, Frogmore Cottage. The King has reportedly offered them a suite of rooms in Buckingham Palace that previously belonged to the Duke of York.

Prince Harry, who made a surprise visit to the UK for a phone-hacking case against The Daily Mail's publisher, reportedly stayed at Frogmore Cottage during his visit. It is believed that he used this time to sort out his and Meghan's belongings and prepare to ship them to their Montecito, California home.

Prior to committing to the coronation, Harry was said to be seeking an apology from King Charles and the Prince of Wales. He stated in an interview earlier this year, "the ball is in their court" and "the door is always open" for reconciliation.
