Kelly Clarkson Still Reportedly ‘Believes In Love’, Yet ‘Doesn’t Need A Man To Complete Her’
Kelly Clarkson is reportedly “happier than she’s been in a very long time.”
OK! Magazine said the claim is from a source, who noted that the 40-year-old songstress “still believes in love despite everything.” It comes nearly a year after she and Brandon Blackstock finalized their divorce.
As stated, Clarkson “would be open to seeing where it goes” should the right guy come into her life.
Despite this, though, the “Since U Been Gone” singer is said to have “realized that she doesn’t need a man to complete her,” with the insider adding that she “likes to joke that she’s enjoying not having anyone to answer to, but she isn’t dead inside.”
In the end, while the “American Idol” winner reportedly “took some adjusting” in becoming a single mother, this has made her “an even better parent.”
Kelly Clarkson has not confirmed the matter, making it unclear whether the claims are accurate.
But, even so, the “Because Of You” singer previously opened up about the dating aspect of her life during an exclusive interview with Access Daily.
Speaking to Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover during the engagement, published in January, Clarkson explained why dating is not a focus of her life these days.
She revealed in the exchange that her therapist told her to “go on a date” and continued, “I was like, ‘No,’” before saying, “I sound like such a cliche, but I’m really enjoying me.”
Kelly Clarkson also previously joked that she would be “single forever” during a December 2021 engagement with Andy Cohen for an episode of her show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
In its report covering the exchange, Page Six said the “All I Ever Wanted” artist made the joke as she talked about relationships, including her struggles in seeing the “red flags” in bad dates, telling the television personality, “I’m always that person that’s like, ‘Oh, I don’t know. Maybe they were having an off day.’”
Cohen is said to have later admitted to Clarkson that he tends to “cut and run” after seeing a red flag on a date, reportedly causing the songstress to quip, “We should hang out so that rubs off [on me].”
The “My Life Would Suck Without You” singer was married to Brandon Blackstock from 2013 to 2021. But, the pair, who share two children, split in 2020, with her filing for divorce in June of that year, according to People.
In July 2021, Kelly Clarkson is said to have requested to be declared legally divorced and became legally single the following month.
The two personalities finalized their divorce in March 2022.
