Prince Harry, British Royals’ ‘Family Summit’ Ahead Coronation Reportedly Dismissed
“Finding Freedom” co-author Omid Scobie has reportedly appeared to have dismissed the recent report about the potential “summit” between Prince Harry and some members of the British Royal Family.
Express UK claimed that the royal expert talked about the matter during an engagement with The Common Sense Network.
In the exchange, Scobie is said to have shared that he has seen the reports in question, telling the interviewer that the claims say “there will be some kind of family summit before then for Charles to have these conversations with Harry and Meghan.”
He stated, however, that “from what I understand from sources, this is not true at all," as per the publication.
The assertion from Omid Scobie came after he was asked about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s attendance at King Charles III’s coronation, which will be on May 6.
In response to the question, the royal expert stated, “I honestly think people don’t even know whether Harry and Meghan are going because I don’t think they know whether they are going or not.”
Reports about the planned “talks” between Prince Harry and members of the British Royal Family first emerged earlier this month.
Sources reportedly close to the family told The Sunday Times that “the only way forward” is a reconciliation between the Sussexes and the British Royals ahead of King Charles III’s coronation in May.
An insider, who is said to be close to the British Monarch and also familiar with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, noted to the outlet, as well, that “it’s going to take flexibility on all sides, but it can be done,” adding that it is “fixable.”
The same source later told the publication that “both sides need to hold their hands up and admit we didn’t get everything right, and we got a lot wrong, and we have to say to him, ‘We understand the pain you’ve been through,’ The King can do it.”
Following the reports, though, neither of the two parties has addressed the matter. They have not released any official comment to confirm or deny the claims.
But, despite the silence, a royal expert believes that the British Royal Family might reconcile with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for the sake of the upcoming coronation of King Charles III.
Speaking to Us Weekly, which published the claims on Wednesday, Jonathan Sacerdoti shared that he suspects “there are some efforts going on to try and make some form of reconciliation…”
He explained, “I think because they don’t want [family tensions] to upstage what’s going on on that very important day.”
However, the expert argued that even if the Sussexes and the rest of the British Royal Family “do manage to make some form of peace,” he believes that “[it] might be temporary,” telling the outlet, “whether or not that’s possible is one thing, and whether or not it’s lasting is another thing.”
