Lily Collins Reveals Thoughts On Carrie Bradshaw Comparison Following ‘Emily In Paris’ Season 3 Premiere
Lily Collins is sharing her thoughts on the iconic Carrie Bradshaw from “Sex and the City.”
The 33-year-old celebrity talked about the matter during a recent exclusive exchange with E! News. It comes after “Emily In Paris” Season 3 dropped on Netflix, and comparisons between the two shows and the lead characters are said to have become apparent.
Collins told the outlet that she will “always take” the comparisons “with utter love.” She also revealed that she loves Sarah Jessica Parker before noting that she loves her character as Carrie Bradshaw on "Sex and the City."
Lily Collins continued that the two titles "are very much fashion shows," adding that "they celebrate the cities in which they film, Paris and New York." She also pointed out that "they're characters unto themselves, the fashion and the city."
ET recalled elsewhere in its report, published Thursday, that "Emily In Paris" and "Sex and the City" shared similarities in their respective runs. As stated, the two materials had the same costume designer, Patricia Field.
The publication explained that the Emmy-winning designer co-designed the Netflix series' first season and worked as a costume consultant in its second season run.
As for Field's work on "Sex and the City," she is said to have held the post as a head costume designer in the show's entire six-installment run.
"Emily In Paris" returned for its third season on Netflix last week. Lily Collins reprised her role as the titular character, Emily Cooper.
While the plot has already answered the questions from Season 2, the latest installment has provided new cliffhangers.
But, fortunately for the fans and avid watchers of the series, "Emily In Paris" will return for a new season, with Harper's Bazaar noting that the third and fourth seasons were filmed back-to-back earlier this year, citing a report from Variety.
There is very little information available, though, in terms of the details of the new installment. Even so, most of the cast is reportedly likely to return, including Lucien Laviscount's Alfie.
Earlier this week, Lily Collins gave her fans and followers a behind-the-scenes look at her character’s new hairstyle in the third season of “Emily in Paris.”
On Instagram, the “Love, Rosie” actress posted a video of herself as her hairstylist cuts her bangs. She says, “Baby’s first bangs,” while she gets her new look for the show.
In the caption, Collins wrote in part that the hairdo is “not exactly trauma bangs,” adding that “unlike Emily, I didn’t cut these myself!”
Page Six, in its report covering Tuesday’s social media update, noted that the actress’s character on the Netflix series underwent a major hairstyle makeover in the newly released episodes.
All three seasons of “Emily In Paris” are available for streaming on Netflix.
