Harrison Ford is allegedly struggling to cope with the ongoing tensions between Calista Flockhart and Helen Mirren.

In its Dec. 19 issue, New Idea claimed that Flockhart and Mirren are seemingly feuding with each other over Ford’s love and attention.

A source claimed that Flockhart’s desire to play Ford’s spouse in Yellowstone did not sit well with Mirren, who has been playing the actor’s spouse in other projects for many years.

“When Harrison was the first cast, Calista came up with the idea that she could play his wife. She thought it’d be really fun if they carried on the tradition of casting actual spouses together,” the source said.

The insider added that Flockhart wanted to be cast in Yellowstone because she didn’t want to be away from Ford while he is filming in Montana.

And since Flockhart is married to Stone, she was hoping that the latter could get his connections to cast her in the series.

“Calista was secretly hoping Harrison could use some of his A-list pulling power to get her the gig, but given he’s not a producer, he didn’t really have a say in who would play his wife. He raised the question out of duty, but no offense to Calista, they were never going to go for her if they had Helen already on the hook,” the source said.

What’s more, is that the people behind Yellowstone allegedly felt that Flockhart was too young to play Ford’s spouse in the series. And this is another reason why they didn’t cast her.

“Calista doesn’t blame Helen per se, but her nose is very much out of joint. You have to feel for Harrison. The poor man was between a rock and a hard place,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that Mirren and Flockhart are being pitted against each other.

There’s also no indication that Flockhart wanted to star in Yellowstone or that she forced Ford to make her casting happen.

It’s unclear where these rumors are coming from, but it’s obvious that they are an attack on Flockhart’s character.

But at the end of the day, there are no tensions between all the parties involved. And Ford also knows that his real-life wife and onscreen wife are different.
