Jennifer Aniston Revamped Justin Theroux’s Former Home Office After Split
Jennifer Aniston did some redecorations in her home after her split from Justin Theroux.
Speaking to Allure for its December cover story, the 53-year-old actress revealed what she did to her former husband’s former home office after he moved out.
The magazine shared that the office in question, described as “a small cottage that’s about 90 percent windows,” is in the backyard across from the main house. It also noted that the location is a small botanical garden, which has a chicken coop and olive trees.
Upon reaching the cottage, the “Friends” alum stated, “Welcome to the Babe Cave,” before saying it was her former husband’s office from when they were still living together as a married couple. She then revealed that she revamped the space after the split, which they announced earlier in 2018.
Jennifer Aniston told the magazine that Justin Theroux “likes things black and dark.” So, she said she “lightened it up” and “stripped it all” after he moved out from the property.
The “Murder Mystery” actress also shared what her former husband thought of his former home office’s new look. She revealed that the “Tropic Thunder” actor “came over [the other day] and was like, ‘What the f*** did you do?’ I said, ‘I brought the light back in buddy.’”
People, in its recent report covering the matter, said Jennifer Aniston bought the property in 2011 for $21 million. It added that she has been living in it for almost 12 years.
The magazine continued that the former couple spent two years doing renovations in the Bel Air estate. As noted, they collaborated with the actress’s long-time decorator, Stephen Shadley, for the project.
At first, Aniston reportedly had challenges doing the renovation with Theroux as she previously did it on her own.
The magazine quoted the “He’s Just Not That Into You” actress from an interview with Architectural Digest, stating, “Justin definitely wanted to be involved, so there was a bit of a learning curve for me on how to include another voice in the design process.”
It continues, “For instance, I figured out that immediately saying 'No!' to any suggestion is not the most collaborative move.”
Us Weekly recalls in a report that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux first met on the set of “Tropical Thunder” in 2007. But, they did not reportedly begin their relationship until a few years later when they worked on the film, “Wanderlust,” with Paul Rudd and Kathryn Hahn.
In 2012, the two celebrities got engaged. Although, it took them three years before they officially tied the knot.
Aniston and Theroux announced their split via statement earlier in 2018. They revealed that they had separated, noting that the “decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.”
