Mariah Carey has been dubbed a diva on multiple occasions. But recent claims revealed that she acts more like a diva during the Christmas season.

Heat UK, in its Nov. 18 issue, claimed that the first people to be affected by Carey’s behavior are her team.

“Mariah is a great entertainer, but she’s about as demanding as they come from the moment she wakes up until her head hits the pillow,” the source said.

The source also claimed that while Carey is on tour, she has all sorts of outrageous demands.

“When she’s touring, she wants crates of her favorite champagne served in crystal flutes, gourmet chefs preparing all her meals, plus mineral water, and healthy snacks. Her dressing room must be furnished in all white. And she has an army of assistants doing everything for her. It’s always a production when Mariah decides to do anything, and she’s driving everyone crazy already,” the source said.

The source claimed that Carey is feeling the extra pressure over the holidays because she wants to keep her title as the Queen of Christmas. As a result, she wants to outdo other artists and she becomes an even bigger diva when she does.

“She puts a lot of pressure on herself to stay ahead of new artists and imposters who are vying for her crown. Plus, of course, there are the same old rivals she always has to fend off like Michael Buble and Dolly Parton,” the source said.

The unnamed insider called this the classic Mariah because the singer allegedly takes it to the extremes especially when other people refuse to work with her.

“The sooner the holidays are over, the better for these poor souls – all they want for Christmas is for her to calm down and give them a break,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that Carey is a diva or that she acts like an even worse diva during the holiday season.

The fact that no one has come forward with their complaints about the singer and with their names on the line proves that all these are nothing more than rumors.

And since everyone in the industry knows that Carey is the Queen of Christmas, no one tries to compete with her in this department.
