Selena Gomez Remains Hopeful Despite Enduring Pain: ‘I Still Believe’
Selena Gomez is still full of hope despite all the heartbreaks she experienced.
E! News reported that the 30-year-old celebrity opened up about the matter during an appearance on an episode of the “On Purpose” podcast. She is said to have engaged with the material’s host, Jay Shetty, and talked about her thoughts moving past heartaches and pains.
The publication stated that the “Lose You To Love Me” singer believes giving herself “completely to something is the best way” she can love. She is noted to have pointed out, though, that she never allows her pains and struggles to hinder her from moving forward.
The outlet quoted Selena Gomez from the said exchange, stating, “But I never wanted the pain that I endured to put some sort of guard on myself—an armor if you will—and I never let that happen because I still believe and I still hope."
The “Rare” artist reportedly continued that she hopes for a lot of things, including love, healing, and change.
But, while she admitted to feeling “so far away” some days, she argued that she “would rather continue to get my heart broken than to not feel at all,” as per the publication.
Selena Gomez appeared to have shared similar thoughts in one part of her newly released Apple TV+ documentary, “My Mind & Me.” It comes as she discusses the end and aftermath of her relationship with Justin Bieber, according to Entertainment Tonight.
The publication noted that the “Only Murders In The Building” actress talked about how “everything was so public,” adding that she “felt haunted by a past relationship that no one wanted to let go of.”
Although, Gomez said, “Then I just moved past it, and I wasn’t afraid anymore,” as per the outlet.
The “Back To You” singer also reportedly emphasized in the documentary how she felt she “had to go through the worst possible heartbreak ever and then just forgetting everything at the drop of the hand,” making it all “really confusing.”
Despite this, Selena Gomez is said to have countered that she thinks it “needed to happen,” adding that “ultimately, it was the best thing that ever happened to me.”
Justin Bieber and the Rare Beauty founder had an on-and-off romance for years. While they initially claimed that their ties were platonic, they began their relationship earlier in 2011, according to Us Weekly.
Several breakups and reunions happened in the years that followed. But, Selena Gomez and the “Sorry” singer reportedly rekindled their romance for the last time in late 2017 before parting ways for good in 2018, months before Bieber tied the knot with the then-Hailey Baldwin.
