Aaron Carter, Singer And Former Child Star Dead At 34
Aaron Carter, who rose to fame as a pop star in his childhood, died at his home in Lancaster, California. He was 34.
People confirmed the matter, noting that a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department revealed some details about the incident. As stated, authorities found a body earlier on Saturday but did not officially identify the victim.
The “I Want Candy” singer’s camp has yet to release an official statement. Also, the magazine said a rep for the artist declined to comment but asserted, “a statement will be released shortly by the family and management.”
The same rep later thanked the outlet for its “understanding during this difficult time.”
The cause of Aaron Carter’s death remains unknown. But, multiple sources told TMZ, which first reported the news, that the former child star’s body was found in his bathtub.
Insiders also shared with the publication that authorities received a 911 call at 11 in the morning of the same day, saying a male had drowned in the tub.
Hours after the initial report, published Saturday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed to the outlet that Carter’s house sitter found his body in the tub and called authorities.
TMZ noted, as well, in the same report that it has no information or evidence of foul play.
In a separate report, People shared that several celebrities reacted to the news of Aaron Carter’s passing. It said that many of them worked with him in the past and knew him personally, including “One Tree Hill” actor Tyler Hilton, Disney alum Christy Carlson, Billy Gilman, and Melissa Joan Hart.
The magazine noted that the reactions and tributes were posted on social media platforms. As stated, most of them expressed sadness upon learning about the tragic news, while others sent love, support, and prayers to the “Another Earthquake!” artist’s family.
Carter welcomed his first child with his then-fiancee, Melanie Martin, in November 2021. They got engaged in 2020, although they called it off after becoming parents and before getting back together in December 2021.
The two personalities parted ways again in February 2022.
Aaron Carter was the younger brother of Nick Carter, a member of the Backstreet Boys. He rose to fame after debuting with his self-titled album in 1997.
The former child pop star continued to amass massive popularity and success in the years that followed. He dropped three more albums, “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It), “Oh Aaron,” and “Another Earthquake!,” in 2000, 2001, and 2002 respectively.
Carter released his fifth and final studio album, which carries the title “LØVË," 16 years later in 2018.
The artist and his siblings, including Backstreet Boys member Nick, had a reality show, “House of Carters,” with E! In 2006. He also appeared on screen as a guest in shows like “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” “Lizzie McGuire,” and “7th Heaven.”
He had roles, as well, in the films “Fat Albert,” “Supercross,” and “Popstar.”
