James Corden Leaving The ‘Late Late Show’ After His Contract Ends In 2023: ‘I’m Worried About Being Too Emotional’
James Corden will leave The Late Late Show in 2023 after his contract expires.
Even though an official announcement has not been made yet, Corden already shared how he thinks he would feel when the day comes to say goodbye.
“I'm worried about being too emotional. I'm worried about crying too much. But at the same time, I just got to take a breath and know that there's a lot to do between now and then. I think we have a hundred to go or something. That's a lot of TV to-dos. A lot of stuff to put out,” he told People.
When asked what he would miss most from hosting the late-night talk show, Corden said that it would be the people that he met and the friendships that he built.
Corden was named host of the Late Late Show in 2015, and he has interviewed hundreds, if not thousands of guests in the program.
But just last week, there were fears that Corden would be forced to quit the talk show earlier than expected after he was involved in a major controversy.
A restaurant owner outed the comedian’s bad behavior when he and his wife visited the establishment. According to the owner, Corden lashed out at the staff members of his restaurant.
Corden later apologized for his behavior but he also explained that his reaction was due to the fact that his wife was allergic to eggs.
Prior to his apology, the restaurant owner banned Corden from visiting his establishment but he later revoked his decision.
The controversy led old reports regarding Corden’s behavior to surface. Prior to the pandemic, the funny man was accused of being mean and a bully just like his fellow comedian, Ellen DeGeneres.
But unlike the latter, not a lot of people came forward with complaints about Corden so the rumors just died naturally over the years.
According to WHO, Corden was also banned from Ryanair over bullying claims. However, the report has not been proven to be accurate.
For now, Corden is busy with his talk show and it seems he has a massive guest lineup especially when the final season of The Late Late Show finally airs.
The comedian is also busy with his personal life, as well as his acting career.
