Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis were not on good terms when their former nanny came forward with rumors about the exes. Shortly after, Wilde and Sudeikis were forced to release a joint statement denying their nanny’s claims.

Now, National Enquirer is claiming that Wilde and Sudeikis decided to set aside their differences to respond to their nanny’s allegations because they are both worried that it would affect their careers.

“Their breakup has made them both look bad, and the only thing they can agree on is they need to put a lid on this damaging narrative. They both worry about how the dirty details will affect their careers,” the source said.

Some of Wilde and Sudeikis’ nanny’s allegations included claims that the former strung the latter along while she was already dating Harry Styles. The nanny also accused Wilde of bringing her puppy to the shelter so that she could focus on her relationship with the One Direction singer.

But in their joint statement, Wilde and Sudeikis denied everything that the nanny said. However, the tabloid’s source claimed that it is possible that the rumors are true but Sudeikis just didn’t want to be seen as a wimp.

Wilde, on the other hand, would’ve obviously denied the rumors because it puts her in a bad light.

“Jason doesn’t like being seen as a weepy wimp who was willing to get run over to stop Olivia from seeing Harry. And Olivia doesn’t want to be seen as a homewrecking liar. They are both freaking out over this,” the source said.

As of late, Styles has not yet responded to the nanny’s claims even if his name was dragged into the scandal.

It is also unclear if the tabloid’s claims are true regarding the real reason why Wilde and Sudeikis decided to release a joint statement against their former nanny. After all, it is possible that they did this simply because the claims weren’t true.

For now, the exes have not revealed any plans to sue their former nanny. And the nanny’s name hasn’t also been made public. So, no one can predict what will happen next.

Right now, Wilde and Sudeikis are focused on their two children, as well as their custody battle, and their respective careers.
