Kanye West and Ray J are reportedly ready to put their “rocky past” behind them. It comes after the two artists met, reunited, and posed on the red carpet together at an event earlier this week.

Speaking to HollywoodLife, an insider claimed that the 45-year-old rapper and the 41-year-old singer talked to each other at the event. But, it is stated that their conversations had “no mention of Kim,” with whom they both had romantic ties.

West and the “Let It Go” singer reportedly “mingled throughout the night,” although “there were no one on one serious conversations or anything.” As added, "it was sort of like the elephant in the room, but Ray didn’t feel it was appropriate when they were both there to support Candace.”

The same source continued to the publication that Ray J and the “Donda” rapper share “a lot of history that goes back years and years.” Accordingly, it is said that coming together to support a good cause “was a great feeling” for both celebrities.

Despite the “rocky past,” though, the insider alleged that the “vibe truly felt like they had put that behind them to focus on the bigger picture.”

The public saw Kanye West and Ray J together at the premiere of “The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM” on Wednesday.

E! News said that the two celebrities even posed on the red carpet together, with some reports adding that their attendance was a show of support for Candace Owens and her new documentary.

Elsewhere in the exchange with HollywoodLife, the same insider also deemed the situation between Ray J and the “Heartless” singer “almost” like “where the enemy of your enemy is your friend.” As pointed out, it comes “after everything they’ve both experienced” with Kim Kardashian and the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner household.

The publication later quoted the insider, adding, “Ray feels like the only drama he ever had with Kanye involved the Kardashians, and he’s rather not argue with someone that have done them both wrong in his eyes.”

It continues, “After everything that’s happened, Ray feels like it’s time to put the beef between him and Kanye in the past.”

Ray J is a former partner of Kim Kardashian, while Kanye West is the father of her children.

Us Weekly recalls that the “One Wish” singer and the reality star first met in 2002. But, while their relationship ended in late 2006, the outlet says their ties have continued to haunt them in recent years due to the sex tape that emerged months after their split.

Meanwhile, Kardashian and West began dating in 2012. They tied the knot in 2014, but the SKIMS founder filed for divorce in February 2021.
