Olivier Sarkozy Moved His Ex-Wife Back To His Home After Splitting With Mary-Kate Olsen
It seems that Olivier Sarkozy's decision to move his ex-wife to his and Mary-Kate's home may be one of the reasons that the latter filed for the divorce.
According to Page Six, when the pair separated in early April, the 50-year-old Sarkozy wasted no time in bringing his ex-wife into the Hamptons home he once shared with Olsen. But his reasons were not romantic at all.
An insider close to the couple claimed that the banker, who is the half brother of Nicolas Sarkozy, the former president of France, just wanted to keep her and their children safe while the coronavirus pandemic is still not over.
He and his ex-wife, Charlotte Bernard were married for 14 years and have two children together. Aside from Charlotte, he also brought their two children, Margot and Julien plus his mother to the mansion. The house, as reported by The Daily Mail, apparently has five bedrooms and 4,000 square feet of space. Prior to staying at the Hamptons, they were all in New York, which is the epicenter of the pandemic in the United States.
It is not the first time that Charlotte has been to the Hamptons mansion. In fact, it seems that she has been known to spend a day or two there for holidays and even birthdays.
Olivier and Charlotte seem to have a friendly relationship, as she was even in attendance at his wedding to the other half of the Olsen twins. And while Mary-Kate has no problems with the kids there for an undetermined amount of time, it seems she may not be too keen on having his ex-wife there.
Still, other insiders insist that Olivier's decision to bring his ex-wife to the mansion has nothing to do with Mary-Kate filing for the divorce. It seems that the relationship has just run its course.
The two started dating in 2012 and got married three years later in New York City. Mary-Kate had tried to divorce her husband earlier but it could not happen because the courts were not proceeding with cases that they considered non-emergency. She then tried to get an emergency divorce and claimed that Sarkozy had stopped the lease on their Gramercy apartment and she had to get all her things out of the pad.
Aside from that, there were rumors that Olivier also wanted her to stop working and just be a stay at home wife. He also did not want to have any kids with Olsen, which is very important for her.
