Hollywood megastar Brad Pitt spoke frankly about the marriage pact he had with his former wife Jennifer Aniston in an interview given in 2004.

Pitt was still married to the Friends star when he revealed the marriage pact between them in an interview. The interview took place around the release date of the actor’s film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. It was a time when the Oscar-winning actor was still married to Jen. 

It was also the same year when Aniston bid adieu to her most prominent role to date-that of Rachel Green in the popular sitcom Friends. The final season of the show was aired in 2004. 

Before Pitt and Angelina Jolie started their relationship, the Troy star and Aniston were regarded as the sweethearts of America. It seems though that the former couple was not quite fond of such a tag, Pinkvilla reports. 

The actor opened up about his marriage pact with his then-wife during an interview given to Vanity Fair in 2004. Neither Jen nor he wished to be representatives for a “happy marriage or coupledom.”

Pitt, reportedly, detested the concept of “two-becomes-one-thing” wherein a person does not have his/her individuality. The Fight Club star mentioned that Jen or he did not put the pressure of being a “happily ever after” couple in their marriage. They did not believe in settling rules and policies for their marriage. 

Brad Pitt further said that Jennifer Aniston and he made a pact to see where their marriage is going. They did not believe in the theory of sticking to somebody for the rest of their lives simply because they made the pact. He felt that a couple keeps going as long as they continue growing. 

Pitt further mentioned that he and Jen were still good friends. Although the actor said they had a “complicated” relationship, he felt that is what made it “interesting” too. In another interview given to media personality Oprah Winfrey on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Pitt jested how Aniston revealed their personal arguments to media but also stressed herself.

In other related news, Jolie and Pitt have a better relationship now after they agreed on the custody arrangement for their kids. They separated in 2016 but were legally divorced a year ago. While their divorce has not been a smooth one, it has been reported that the duo is on cordial terms now after the custody schedule got sorted out. 

An insider told Entertainment Tonight that the actor’s highest priority is his children. It seems that Brad Pitt tells his pals that he gets valuable life-enriching lessons from his own kids. Meanwhile, reports have also surfaced that he has allegedly reconciled with his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
