Miranda Kerr On Co-Parenting With Orlando Bloom: ‘Always Put Out Son First’
Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom may have ended their marriage more than a decade ago, but they seem to maintain close ties with each other for their son.
Speaking to E! News, the 39-year-old celebrity talked about the decision she and her former husband made when they called it quits. This appears to be what makes their current relationship seamless.
The outlet quoted the supermodel, saying, “When Orlando and I separated, we made the decision to always put our son first and do what is in his best interest.”
It continues, “If you can let that be the North Star, then everything else falls into place.”
Bloom and Kerr had their son together in 2011. They have since welcomed their respective children from their marriages to Katy Perry and Evan Spiegel.
This is not the first time the Kora Organics founder shared similar assertions about the “Lord of the Rings” alum and their child.
In an interview feature for Vogue Australia, published in July, Miranda Kerr said she feels “really happy” about co-parenting with Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry. She noted that from the day she and her former husband ended their romantic ties, she told him that whatever they do, they have to put their son’s “needs first,” and not their own.
The model continued that that is how they make their decisions, adding that “family is [her] number-one priority.”
Kerr later revealed that she “loves being a mother.” She also said she “always wanted three boys," which is why she feels "really blessed" to have her sons.
The recent exchange with ET comes a few days after the former celebrity couple reunited in Los Angeles earlier this week.
The same outlet said at the time that Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom were both on-hand at the event, which launched Edward Enninful’s new memoir titled, “A Visible Man.”
At the reunion, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor and the Victoria’s Secret Angel were said to be “all smiles” for the photos, as well.
Bloom and Kerr first made headlines with their romance in the fall of 2007. Reports noted, though, that the then-pair kept their relationship on the “down-low.”
Reportedly, it was not until April 2008 that the two celebrities made their first public appearance as a couple. As stated, they attended a horse racing event in Australia, which is the model’s home country.
In June 2010, Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom announced their engagement. A rep for the actor confirmed the following month that they had tied the knot, although details from the ceremony have remained undisclosed.
The two personalities welcomed their son six months later. The marriage lasted for more than three years before calling it quits in October 2013.
