Kate Middleton, Prince William Reportedly Try To Keep Things ‘Normal’ For Children
Kate Middleton and Prince William are reportedly doing their best to keep things “as normal as possible” for their three young children days after the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
Speaking to People, a teacher from Wokingham shared what she and the new Prince and Princess of Wales talked about during their engagement on Saturday. As reported, they discussed the couple’s young children at one point of the exchange, with the royal-born Prince opening up about how they are doing these days in a time of grief.
Elaine Gee, who visited Windsor with her husband, told the magazine that she spoke to the Duke of Cornwall and Cambridge about how she works at a school, “how it’s been a strange year” following the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and how “it is all changed” after the monarch’s passing.
The outlet consequently quoted the well-wisher, reportedly sharing, “[Prince William] spoke about George, Charlotte, and Louis, saying that they were trying to keep some sense of continuity for them at school and keep things as normal as possible.”
As for her meeting Kate Middleton, Gee is said to have told her how impressed she was with the royals’ professional nature during their time of grief.
She later stated that the new Princess of Wales thanked her and “said that all the nation were feeling it.”
In the end, Gee told the magazine that the future King and Queen Consort “were both very kind and gentle and genuine.” She also noted that the engagement with the two royals “was very special,” adding that it was “definitely a moment [she] will always treasure.”
Saturday’s outing saw Prince William and Kate Middleton reunited with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. It marked the four personalities’ first joint appearance since March.
Harper’s Bazaar said it was an “unexpected appearance” following Queen Elizabeth II’s passing on Thursday. It also noted that the new Prince of Wales “invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to join him and the Princess of Wales” for the outing, per a Palace spokesperson.
The day prior to the walkabout outside Windsor Castle, King Charles III, who automatically became the British Monarch following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, named Prince William and Kate Middleton the new Prince and Princess of Wales.
BBC said the new British Monarch made it publicly known in his first address to the nation from Buckingham Palace.
In the same speech, the King also stated that the new Wales royals would help “bring the marginal to the center ground where vital help can be given.”
