Prince William Had ‘Frank’ Conversations With Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles Following ‘Second Thoughts’ On Kate Middleton: Royal Author
Prince William once “confided” in Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles. A royal expert claimed that it came after he had become “anxious” over his relationship with Kate Middleton years before their wedding.
Express UK revealed that the assertions were from Katie Nicholl. She is said to have stated that the eldest of the Wales princes had “frank discussions” with his father and grandmother months before the brief breakup with the young Kate.
The royal author reportedly noted that the current and future British Monarchs had the same advice for the Duke of Cambridge at the time. As claimed, they told him “not to hurry into anything.”
The Mirror was the first to report the statements made by Katie Nicholl. In its piece, published Saturday, it recalled what Prince William and Kate Middleton thought about their breakup in 2007.
As noted, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge previously shared that the split has its benefits. She reportedly admitted that she was “not very happy about it” at the time, but she said it made her a “stronger person,” adding that she “found out things about [herself] that maybe [she] had not realized.”
The future Queen Consort was also said to have asserted that one “can get quite consumed by a relationship when [one is] younger.” Accordingly, she “valued that time” for herself, although she argued that she did not think that way during the breakup.
As for Prince William, he reportedly noted that they were “both very young,” and “finding themselves” and “being different characters.” He was claimed to have added that “it was very much trying to find [their] own way” as they were growing up, “so it was just a bit of space and it worked out for the better.”
Meanwhile, the report alleged that Queen Elizabeth II was "disappointed" by the split.
Months later, the young Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reunited as a couple. Cosmopolitan said that the reunion seemingly became official earlier in 2008.
In 2010, the now-future King and Queen Consort got engaged in Kenya. They announced their engagement a few weeks after and months ahead of their lavish wedding in 2011.
