Jennifer Lopez Reveals Facing ‘Unexpected Setbacks’ Ahead ‘Perfect’ Georgia Wedding
Jennifer Lopez is opening up about the details of her second wedding to Ben Affleck. While she deemed the event “perfect,” she revealed that it did not come without some challenges.
On Thursday, the 53-year-old songstress gave fans an insight into the lavish ceremony via her “On The JLo” newsletter. She told readers that she and her husband had a few “unexpected setbacks” prior to the celebration, according to People.
Lopez recalled, “it had rained at sunset every day that week.” She also noted how “everyone was worried” about several things, including “the heat, the aptly named ‘love bugs,’” and other details involved in the event.
The “Marry Me” actress continued that there were “thunder and lightning,” as well, adding that they were “almost on cue each day at the exact time the ceremony was supposed to start that Saturday.”
On top of it all, Jennifer Lopez revealed that they all caught a “stomach bug,” causing them to recuperate until late in the week.
The magazine added that Ben Affleck’s mother reportedly injured her leg the day before the ceremony.
Despite the setbacks, though, the “On The Floor” singer stated that things ended up being “better” than they planned.
The outlet quoted Jennifer Lopez as saying, “The truth is, I never had one doubt. All week I felt the calm and easy certainty that we were in God’s hands.”
Elsewhere in the newsletter, released Thursday, the “Selena” star talked about her thoughts and feelings on the day of the ceremony. She recalled how it both “made absolute sense while seeming still impossibly hard to believe,” adding that it was “like the best dream, where all you want is never to awaken.”
The “Hold You Down” singer also shared that “it made the same wonderful sense” when she got close enough to see Ben Affleck’s face. Moreover, she noted that “some old wounds were healed that day, and the weight of the past finally lifted off [their] shoulders.”
MailOnline, in its recent piece covering the celebrity's release, said she described the wedding reception using a quote written by the DCEU actor for his film, “Live By Night.” It reads, “This is heaven. Right here. We’re in it now.”
This is the first time Jennifer Lopez opened up about the details of her second wedding to Ben Affleck.
Previously, the “Maid In Manhattan” actress seemingly hinted at giving her “On The JLo” readers an insight into the lavish event when she slammed the leaked video of her performance at the event.
In a comment Lopez posted on Instagram, she revealed they had their guests sign NDAs (non-disclosure agreements), adding that they “asked everyone to not share anything” from their wedding.
Page Six, in a report covering the matter, quoted the celebrity, stating, “Anything I put out private is ‘OnTheJLO’ and it’s to share [with] my fans. Which I will do when I am ready to…”
