Anne Heche Died Without Mending Her Strained Relationships With Ellen DeGeneres, Steve Martin?
Anne Heche died nine days after she crashed her Mini Cooper into a home and caused the massive fire to engulf the property.
In its Sept. 5 issue, National Enquirer claimed that Heche’s untimely passing is a real tragedy because she never had the opportunity to repair her relationships with Steve Martin and Ellen DeGeneres.
Prior to her death, Heche was already thinking about reaching out to the two A-listers, but she never had the chance.
“Anne was aware of the pain she’d caused Ellen and regretted it. She often told friends, ‘Before I die, I want Ellen to forgive me,’” the source said.
The source claimed that Heche tried to reach out to DeGeneres several times after they split. But she later figured out that the comedian would not talk to her because she believes that Heche used her.
Meanwhile, the source also claimed that Heche also hurt Martin to the core. Friends of the late actress allegedly thought that the A-listers would end up tying the knot. And Martin was already thinking of how he’d propose to Heche, but she froze him out.
“He never stopped loving her. He’s devastated she didn’t make it,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. Since Heche already passed away, it’s much better to leave her in peace.
There’s no reason for tabloids to make up stories about Heche and DeGeneres now that the former is no longer around to clear her name.
It is also important to note that DeGeneres and Heche split a long time ago. So, it’s highly that they already moved on from each other.
As for Martin, there’s no proof that the actor fell in love with Heche and wanted to marry her. It’s obvious that the tabloid just made this story up.
Meanwhile, Heche’s sons, Homer, 20, and Atlas, 13, released a statement thanking everyone for the outpouring of love and support that they have been getting since their mom’s passing.
“My brother Atlas and I want to thank Tyler, Noelle, and all the amazing people at Hollywood Forever for their kindness, compassion, and generosity of spirit. We are convinced our Mom would love the site we have chosen for her; it's beautiful, serene and she will be among her Hollywood peers,” they said.
According to People, Heche’s final arrangements were handled by Hollywood Funeral Home.
