Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Looking To Renew Wedding Vows For Netflix? Royal Experts Discuss Possibilities
A tabloid source has alleged that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are “looking at various venues” for a vow-renewal event.
The claims appear to have led some royal experts and commentators to discuss the possibility and likelihood of it. Express UK covered the discussions in its recent reports.
Speaking to an episode of the “Palace Confidential” podcast, Charlotte Griffiths is said to have initially emphasized that “unconfirmed is the key word,” seemingly implying that the allegations are mere rumors about the former working royals.
Even so, she reportedly argued that “the truth is often stranger than fiction when it comes to these two,” despite the claims sounding “so unrealistic.”
The publication quoted the royal expert, adding, “Renewing your vows is quite an American thing to do.”
It continues, “[The Duke and Duchess of Sussex] probably have a lot of resentment around the wedding time because of all these dramas going on backstage. Plus, they need some interesting Netflix content.”
Griffits is said to have also noted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “have got to have that Kardashian-thing, a set piece” for their Netflix material, despite having “footage of them at the WellChild awards.”
The royal expert’s statements reportedly led columnist Sarah Vine to point out that the former working royals, who tied the knot in 2018, “just got married.” She is said to have asserted that one has to be “married for a bit before [they] can renew,” ten years at least.
However, Griffiths is reported to have argued that “there is no rule because it is a nonsense thing to do in the first place.”
Nevertheless, she reportedly told the columnist and their audience that she would “tune in” to the couple’s Netflix documentary “if they renewed their vows,” adding that “it would seriously have a lot of ratings.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have yet to make a statement regarding the claims and the assertions surrounding them. Express UK also stated that it has already reached out to Archewell for an official comment.
The allegations, as well as the discussions that followed thereof, come ahead of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s return to the United Kingdom.
A spokesperson for the former working royals confirmed their flight back to Europe in September.
Insider quoted the official statement issued, writing, “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to visit with several charities close to their hearts.”
Per the rep, the royal-born Prince and his wife will fly to Manchester on September 5 for The One Young World Summit.
In the next two days from England, the Sussexes will reportedly be at Dusseldorf, Germany, for the “One Year To Go” event of the Invictus Games.
The spokesperson also told the publication that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be back in the United Kingdom for the WellChild Awards on September 8.
