Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Will Return To UK This September: Everything You Need To Know
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will return to Europe next month.
A spokesperson for the former working royals confirmed the matter earlier on Monday, stating that they “are delighted to visit with several charities close to their hearts in early September.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will first travel to Manchester for the One Young World Summit on September 5.
People recalled that the former actress has a long-standing tie to One Young World, with her taking part in the summits from 2014 and 2016 as a counselor. She and the royal-born Prince also attended in 2019, before stepping down as working members of the British Royal Family.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will fly to Germany on September 6 for the Invictus Games' "One Year To Go" event. They will kick off the one-year countdown for the opening next year in Dusseldorf.
On September 8, the Duke and Duchess will return to the United Kingdom for the WellChild Awards. The annual event is said to celebrate the inspirational qualities of the country’s seriously ill children and young people, alongside carers and family members who make a difference in their lives.
It remains unclear when the two personalities will fly back to the United States. It is also unknown whether they will meet members of the British Royal Family.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were last on the British Royals’ turf earlier in June. They joined the rest of the Royal Family and Firm to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
The pair, who left their royal posts in 2020, flew to the U.K. along with their two children. It served as their son’s first return to the country since relocating to the United States, while the first trip for their youngest child, who was born in the former actress’s home country in June 2021.
While present at the Trooping the Colour, CNN recalled that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not make an appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. Only senior members of the Royal Firm carrying out official duties were included.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II is reportedly expected to be in Balmoral for her annual summer stay in Scotland during the Sussexes’ upcoming trip.
There were claims that she invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to join her on her holiday, but insiders told Page Six that they are not on the Balmoral guest list.
The publication also revealed that they obtained confirmations from multiple sources, noting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “will not be going to visit” the Queen.
