Tom Holland has found social media “overwhelming,” causing him to take a healthy step back.

On Saturday, the 26-year-old celebrity announced his hiatus from social media. He took his thoughts to Instagram via a video, wherein he opened up about the move.

Holland began his caption with “Hello and goodbye.”

Entertainment Tonight quoted the Marvel star, writing, “I have been taking a break from social media for my mental health.”

It continues, “...felt compelled to come on here to talk about [Stem4]. Stem4 is one of the many charities [The Brothers Trust] is extremely proud to support - and I’d like to take a moment to shine a light on their fantastic work.”

Tom Holland consequently urged his fans and followers to watch his video and noted that sharing it “with anyone who it may resonate with… would be greatly appreciated.”

The “Avengers: Infinity War” star signed off, writing, “Love to you all, and let’s get talking about mental health.”

The post has since amassed more than 16.2 million views and over 43,000 comments. Friends and other netizens seemingly showered him with messages of support, including Justin Bieber, commenting, “Love you man.”

Mail Online noted that Holland has a huge platform on social media, having over 67 million followers on Instagram alone.

But, he said he finds it and Twitter “overstimulating” and “overwhelming.”

In the video, Tom Holland revealed that he “gets caught up” and “spirals” when he reads things about himself on online platforms. He deemed it “detrimental to [his] mental state,” and therefore decided to delete the apps.

The “Spider-Man: No Way Home” star did not share further details about his hiatus from social media. It remains unclear when he will return to using the platforms.

Meanwhile, Holland appears to be focusing on his career as he works on his new title project. Just Jared even described him as “hard at work” after spotting him on the set of “The Crowded Room” earlier last month.

On July 9, the celebrity was seen in New York City, running through the streets of the Big Apple. As noted, he was filming for the upcoming Apple TV+ drama, wherein he would star as the lead character, Danny Sullivan.

The publication said that the ten-episode anthology series follows Sullivan, who was the first person to be acquitted of a crime on the basis of multiple-personality disorder. It takes its inspiration from Daniel Keyes’ biography, “The Minds of Billy Milligan,” and is based on writer Akiva Goldsman’s life.

Aside from Tom Holland, the cast members also include Amanda Seyfried, Emmy Rossum, Emma Laird, and Christopher Abbott.
