Blake Shelton Revealed Why He Wrote A Song For His Marriage Vows To Gwen Stefani
Blake Shelton decided to write a song for Gwen Stefani as his vows during their 2021 wedding. He later revealed why he made the move, noting that it was because of his wife.
Cheat Sheet recently unearthed the singer's claims, which he made during an interview in November. It came about four months after he and the “Cool” artist tied the knot.
Shelton opened up about the matter and stated that his partner had been “pretty hard” on him in the past few years. He shared that Stefani does not think he writes “enough music.”
The 46-year-old celebrity, as a result, decided to “take [the] opportunity to write a song for her as [his] vows.”
The publication consequently recalled Gwen Stefani’s earlier statements about the matter. Ahead of their wedding, she is said to have told DJ Khaled that Blake Shelton “does not really write [songs] anymore.”
The exchange was reportedly for a March 2021 episode of the record executive’s “The First One” podcast. As noted, the “Hollaback Girl” singer briefly opened up about her thoughts and sentiments over her now-husband’s song-writing activities.
The publication quoted Stefani, saying, “I wish [Shelton] would write with me, but he does not really write anymore.”
It continues, “We have actually written three songs together. We wrote a Christmas song together, and then we wrote two other songs.”
In the end, the 52-year-old singer reportedly claimed that her fellow “The Voice” coach “does not like writing that much,” and it makes her “so mad.”
Meanwhile, TV host Carson Daly previously shared an insight into the wedding of Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani after officiating the ceremony. He talked about the pair’s vows, especially the country artist’s song for the latter, according to Pop Culture.
The radio personality stated that during the exchanging of vows, the “guitar comes in frame” along with the “stool,” and “next thing [they] know,” the “Boys ‘Round Her” singer “sings her a song while he’s crying that he wrote specifically for [Stefani].”
Daly also revealed that there was “not a dry eye in the house.”
The two artists officially tied the knot in July 2021. It came nearly a year after he proposed to her, leading to their engagement.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani first sparked romance rumors in late 2015. It was months after their respective marriages to Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale ended.
The two celebrities made their red carpet debut as a couple in February 2016. They also did their first collaboration together, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” during the same year.
Stefani and Shelton went on to work on three more tracks in the years that followed. These are “You Make It Feel Like Christmas,” “Nobody But You,” and “Happy Anywhere.”
