Princess Anne and Meghan Markle couldn’t be more different from one another and this is the main reason why the two women never really saw each other eye-to-eye.

A source told New Idea that Princess Anne was a no-fuss royal who didn’t want the public’s attention when she was merely doing her royal duties. Markle, on the other hand, wants to be a big name in Hollywood and in Britain and she wants cameras to follow her everywhere.

“Hard-working, no-fuss Anne was the exact opposite of everything the Hollywood celebrity was chasing. It’s no wonder they never saw eye to eye. And, of course, given that Harry and Meghan ran off to California the second the going got tough, Anne was right as usual,” the source said.

The source also claimed that Princess Anne made it clear to Markle early on that royal life isn’t like Hollywood. And the goal of a senior working royal is to represent the queen and make sure to do it well. After all, no one is bigger than The Crown.

However, it seems that Markle refused to listen to Princess Anne. She continued pushing for fame and was criticized by royal fans for it.

In fact, royal expert Neil Sean recently claimed that Princess Anne once told the Duchess of Sussex that being a royal is all about getting involved and being immersed in her patronages and charities.

“She reiterated that it wasn’t a working monarchy, it was a job. You turn up on time, you do your research, and do the duty,” he said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. As of late, there’s no proof that Princess Anne and Markle ever had the opportunity to have a heart-to-heart conversation.

And if they did, the details have stayed private. So, it’s unlikely for a tabloid, that did not interview the two women, to know all these details.

It seems Princess Anne’s previous statements were taken out of context. She previously said that some people want to do things differently. But she’s firm in doing things based on what already worked in the past.

Princess Anne wasn’t necessarily throwing shade at Markle at the time but royal fans were convinced that this was the case. After all, the Sussexes are the ones who are trying to shake up the monarchy.
