Prince William ‘Very Unlikely’ To Meet With Sussexes In Upcoming US Trip, Experts Suggest
Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly flying to the United States for the first time in eight years later this year. While many have wondered whether they will visit Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who currently reside in California, experts have suggested that it is “very unlikely.”
The Mirror said that the most recent assertions about the matter surfaced after “Royal Rota” podcast hosts discussed it in the title’s latest episode. As noted, the experts seem to think that the meeting between the two couples is not likely due to the apparent distance.
Chris Ship and Lizzie Robinson reportedly cited an exchange on Twitter after a netizen explained that “the United States is such a big country,” and the distance between the Sussexes’ home and the venue of the Cambridges’ trip is too far.
The outlet consequently quoted the hosts, sharing, “...someone said on Twitter that [it is] like the equivalent of saying, ‘I’m doing a tour to Portugal and I’m going to visit someone in Finland.’”
This seemingly led the royal experts to conclude that Prince William, alongside Kate Middleton, is “very unlikely” to pop over to California to visit Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The publication later noted that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s reported upcoming trip to the United States is for the second annual Earthshot Prize awards ceremony. It will take place this December at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum, which is in Boston, Massachusetts.
Royal commentator Neil Sean, meanwhile, said in July that meeting in the United States “would be an ideal situation,” according to Express UK.
He reportedly told viewers of his videos on his YouTube channel that “it is a little bit easier to get away from the media [in the country] because it is such a vast place,” adding that they “can arrange to meet anywhere.”
However, Sean was said to have argued that it “will not be possible” in the case of Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle.
The publication quoted the expert, explaining, “[the Cambridges] are planning a packed schedule with no private time for visits.”
This was not the first time Neil Sean shared his thoughts about Prince William and Kate Middleton’s potential trip to the United States. As early as December 2021, he already dismissed the speculations of the royal couple visiting or staying with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in California, according to a separate report from Express UK.
The royal commentator reportedly explained that a visit is “unlikely” due to security reasons and not because of a royal rift. He was said to have noted that “it is really more to do with the fact that they could of course stay there, only because of security.”
