Austin Butler allegedly dump Kaia Gerber shortly after they appeared on the red carpet for the premiere of Elvis.

A source told In Touch Weekly that the A-listers’ relationship was short-lived. After all, they were only interested in each other during the filming and until the premiere. But after the movie was released, things allegedly changed between the co-stars.

“They were all lovey-dovey on the red carpet when Elvis premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, but as his star rose, their relationship went down the drain. It seems fame went to Austin’s head and he told her in June it was over. She’s heartbroken,” the source said.

But even though Gerber was devastated about their split, the source stressed that the model isn’t afraid to be alone. In fact, she’s thriving as a newly-single woman.

However, it seems that the tabloid just based their made-up claims on what Gerber previously said about her favorite self-help book.

“One of my favorite self-help books is Codependent No More. Even if you’re not technically codependent, just not allowing your happiness to rely on someone else’s I think is a huge thing because I was like, ‘I’m so independent. I’m good.’ And I was reading that book and I was like, ‘Nope, I’m absolutely codependent,” she said.

As of late, there’s no proof as to whether Butler and Gerber really broke up but what’s for certain is that the A-listers are doing fine. It’s unclear if they even dated in the first place but the rumors that they were together are not surprising because they starred in the same movie.

Prior to this, Gerber was also linked to Jacob Elordi but this rumored relationship was once again short-lived. And for a time, the model was photographed hanging out with Pete Davidson on multiple occasions.

In fact, it has reached a point wherein some tabloids already started calling Gerber a serial dater because she changes her boyfriends quickly.

Still, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. Only Butler and Gerber know the real score between them. And only the A-listers can confirm or deny if they’re still together or have broken up because they lost the spark after the filming of Elvis wrapped up.
