Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Were ‘Defeated’ Following Platinum Jubilee Snub: Royal Author
Tom Bower thinks Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “were defeated” at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. He believes that the former working royals were not able to get what they wanted at the time.
The royal author talked about the matter during a recent interview on “Lorraine.” The engagement appears to be part of his promotional activities for his newly released book, “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors,” according to Express UK.
When asked about his thoughts regarding what happened at the Jubilee, particularly the balcony appearance, the expert said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were “defeated" as they were not included in it.
He also stated that the pair returned to the United States "very chagrined" and "very annoyed," adding that "they went back very angry" as they did not get the "exposure they wanted, especially with the Queen."
Bower explained that an appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace and exposure with the British Monarch “would be the huge profile they needed for their Netflix documentary.” He noted that the material is “essential to their financial income and wealth.”
The royal expert consequently went as far as to claim that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry “thought they could blackmail the Royal Family into forcing them to let them go on the balcony.” But, he believes that Prince Charles and Prince William put their feet down to the couple’s demands.
The publication quoted Bower, saying, “For once, finally, the Royal Family, especially [the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge], planned it so that they could come but under the terms that did not give them what they wanted.”
Following the claims, though, no official word has been heard yet from the camp of the Sussexes. It remains unclear whether the claims are legitimate.
But, with the lack of evidence and confirmation regarding the matter, the latest assertions appear to be speculative at best.
The public would recall that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not appear on the palace’s balcony during the Trooping the Colour.
People previously explained that the traditional balcony appearance was limited to only senior working members of the British Royal Family. This was in accordance with the Queen’s decision “after careful consideration.”
Meanwhile, Tom Bower also made claims about Prince Harry’s reaction toward Queen Elizabeth II supposedly excluding him and Meghan Markle from photos on her Christmas Day broadcast in 2019.
Writing in his book, “Revenge,” the author says the Duke of Sussex was “staggered” to learn about it.
