Barack Obama and Michelle Obama are allegedly struggling to control their daughters Malia and Sasha’s spending habits.

In its Aug. 5 issue, Star claimed that Malia and Sasha have been cutting loose in Los Angeles. And the sisters’ spending has become so out of control.

A source claimed that even though Malia and Sasha are 24 and 21 years old, respectively, they are still getting an allowance from their parents. The sisters also have a credit card that their parents are paying for.

And if this isn’t enough, Malia and Sasha allegedly ride on Barack and Michelle’s credit cards so that they can continue their shopping sprees.

“Now that they’re in LA, the girls are hanging with a real spendy crowd. They eat at the most expensive restaurants most nights of the week, shop for designer clothes in Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, and drop thousands of spas and salons,” the source said.

To prove their dubious claims, the tabloid cited examples of when Malia and Sasha overspent. However, they fell short with their example.

After all, they claimed that Sasha was spotted sporting a pricey manicure, which doesn’t seem shocking or costly regardless of how pricey it was.

As for Malia, she was allegedly photographed dining at high-end restaurants in Los Angeles. However, this isn’t a big deal either.

Still, the tabloid insisted that Malia and Sasha’s spending is causing their parents to panic.

“Their daughters’ spending is now at the top of Barack and Michelle’s grievance list. They know they are no different from many other couples whose kids are enjoying their freedom away from the nest. This is just an aggravating part of parenthood. Now, they’re bringing grown men home. Now, they have boyfriends and real lives and all that stuff,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. As of late, there’s no proof that Malia and Sasha have been using up their money and credit card to fund their lavish lifestyles.

And it’s not also true that they are still using their parents' credit cards or that Barack and Michelle still give the sisters allowance.

It is important to note that Malia is already working. Sasha, on the other hand, is still a student. And it’s possible for her to still be getting an allowance from her parents. But this is to pay for her food and lodging and not to go shopping.
