Meghan Markle decided to return to Hollywood after discovering she was not going to be the number one royal.

This is one of Tom Bower’s claims in his newly released book, “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors.” He stated that the former actress wanted to become the “number one” in the British Royal Family.

The royal author noted that the Duchess of Sussex married Prince Harry because she “loved” him. But, aside from this, he asserted that she also “likes the status.”

However, the former “Suits” star allegedly realized she would not get what she wanted because “there is only one number one royal” in the family. It is said, as well, that the rest of the clan is only there to “support the Queen,” who is the top member.

Bower consequently alleged that Meghan Markle decided to leave after having the realization. Express UK quoted him in his piece, writing, “Meghan did not understand why she was not in the spotlight and very quickly decided she would be better off in Hollywood.”

Elsewhere in the material, the royal author explained that he would not have written it if the Duchess of Sussex had not done the interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021. He wrote in his book that the bombshell tell-all “was so disgraceful,” especially what she and the Duke of Sussex said during the engagement.

The same outlet later quoted Bower’s words, saying, “I’m a monarchist and I just don’t think she should be allowed to say those things unchallenged. It was scandalous.”

Ahead of the release of “Revenge,” the royal author did an interview with “Good Morning Britain.”

A separate report from Express UK shared some details on how the engagement went, noting that Tom Bower slammed Meghan Markle.

Speaking to Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins, the investigative author asserted that the former actress “did not understand the hierarchy” of the British Royal Family.

He claimed that “she thought monarchy was like Hollywood, all about celebrities.” But, he argued that it is far from the truth as the monarchy is about “hard work with little reward.”

In the end, Bower alleged that the Duchess of Sussex did not like it.

The same royal author had similar remarks about Meghan Markle during an interview on “Piers Morgan Uncensored.” He told the television personality that the former working royal was “clever,” especially in increasing her star power, according to Cheat Sheet.

Bower also deemed the Duchess of Sussex “very scheming,” adding that he realized at the end of his book “how successful she had been” in this aspect. He consequently claimed that “she has calculated that she could be a great success, and by marrying [Prince Harry], she did it.”
