Whoopi Goldberg Demanding ‘The View’ To Pay Her $32 Million Before She Officially Exits The Show, Rumor Claims
Whoopi Goldberg is allegedly demanding the people behind The View to pay her $32 million if they want her to walk away.
In its July 25 issue, Globe claimed that Goldberg is being asked to leave The View for some time now. However, she just inked a four-year deal with the program in 2021. This means that she wants to get her $8 million salary per year for the next four years in advance.
“Even with her giant-size ego, she can’t hold off her enemies forever. She wants a hefty payoff to leave or else she’ll stay and make everyone miserable,” the source said.
The insider claimed that the bosses are actually considering Goldberg’s request. After all, they know that this is the only way they could legally replace her as a host on The View.
“Whoopi has three years left on her contract, but after her embarrassing blunders, the feeling is it might be prudent to replace her. Whoopi’s attitude is they can put her out to pasture, but they’re going to have to cough up some serious cash. She’s laying down the law – treat her fair and she’ll leave quietly. If not, they’ll have a mad hornet in their hands,” the source said.
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. There’s no proof that Goldberg wants to get her salary in advance so that she could quit The View.
If the host were to quit the program, she is no longer entitled to get her salary.
It is also important to note that the Sister Act star is just on a break from hosting The View. After all, she’s filming Anansi Boys in Scotland.
Meanwhile, other rumors have also been hounding Goldberg in recent weeks.
Globe previously claimed that Goldberg has been loveless for quite some time. After all, the actress has no interest in dating because she’s only focused on smoking pot at home.
“Whoopi’s closed for business. She’s had no time for love because she’s got her work and she wouldn’t go on a date now if her life depended on it,” the source said.
However, this claim isn’t true either. After all, Goldberg may not be in a relationship right now because she’s already been married three times before and wants a break.
