Meghan Markle Bullying Probe Not Making Public Sparks Speculations Over Reason Behind
A royal expert shared some thoughts about Buckingham Palace’s decision not to publish the results of its investigation into the alleged “bullying” actions of Meghan Markle.
Writing for the Telegraph, Camilla Tominey pointed out that “no one expected” to see the report, published in its entirety. However, she believes that refusing to provide the details of the probe “represented ‘more than a missed opportunity.’”
Express UK then quoted the expert, saying, “to bury any lessons that might have been learned flies in the face of the Queen’s longstanding mantra that the monarchy should be as open as possible.”
Tominey is also said to have added that the decision has only “left [the British Monarch] open to suggestions that she regards blood to be thicker than water” in terms of the treatment of the royal staff.
She reportedly argued that concealing the results of the probe seemingly leads the public to such a conclusion.
The expert’s assertions come weeks after sources told the Sunday Times of London that the findings of the inquiry have been “buried,” adding that they “will never be released.” As claimed, the decision was made to “protect the participants’ privacy” on top of the effort to “tamp down tensions” between Meghan Markle, alongside Prince Harry, and the rest of the British Royal Family.
Page Six recalled that the probe, which was referred to as an “unprecedented investigation,” began in March 2021. As added, an independent law firm led the move, while Queen Elizabeth II privately funded it.
The reputed publication continued that the investigation emerged after two senior members of the palace staff reportedly made bullying accusations against Meghan Markle.
A spokesperson for the Duchess of Sussex denied the claims as a response. It was also stated that the former actress was “saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself.”
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Buckingham Palace released an official announcement, informing the public about the status of the investigation. It said that the probe had concluded and confirmed that the findings would not be made public.
A source consequently told Us Weekly that despite the palace’s decision not to release the results, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are pleased and “happy that her name has been cleared from the defamatory claims.”
The same insider noted that the Duchess of Sussex is a “fair boss and never bullied anyone who worked for her at the Palace in the first place.”
Following the victory, the former working royals are now reportedly “looking forward to putting the incident behind them.” It is also said that they are “happily moving on with their lives in Montecito.”
