Prince Charles Had ‘Special,’ ‘Emotional’ Reunion With Sussex Children, Source Claims
Prince Charles reunited with the members of the Sussex household earlier this month. It came after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the United Kingdom with their children for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
A source revealed that the meeting with the Sussexes was “fantastic.” The Prince of Wales even felt “wonderful to have them back” in the country, according to Express UK.
Speaking about the reunion with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s firstborn son, the unnamed insider stated that the Heir Apparent had a “very special” time with him.
As explained, he had not seen his grandson for a long time, so to spend some time with him earlier this month was said to be “special” for him.
The public would recall Prince Charles last met the Sussexes' son in late 2019, months before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down from their royal posts. They have since relocated to the United States alongside their children.
Meanwhile, the same source also revealed what the future King supposedly felt upon meeting his granddaughter from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. As claimed, it was “very emotional,” adding that the moment was “a very wonderful thing.”
It is noted that Prince Charles had not met the Sussex pair’s youngest child until the family’s return to the U.K. on June 1. It also served as the young royal’s first time to fly to the British Royals’ turf and meet the rest of the British Royal Family.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle joined the British Royals in celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s seven-decade reign. During the days-long historic event, the former working royals attended a few engagements, including the Service of Thanksgiving and the monarch’s official birthday parade.
The pair missed out on some of the events, however, including the second to the last day's affairs. They instead stayed at Frogmore Cottage and invited some close pals to celebrate their youngest child's first birthday.
An insider later told Page Six that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex extended the invitations to the Cambridge Royals. It was said to be an “olive branch” to Prince William and Kate Middleton, but they were not able to make it due to their duties and responsibilities.
As it happened, the future King and Queen Consort had to go on an official trip with two of their three children that day. Reports said it was part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, resulting in their absence from the private birthday party at Frogmore Cottage.
Following the assertions, some sources reportedly believe that, unlike Prince Charles, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with their young children, were not able to meet the Sussexes’ children earlier this month.
