Lindsay Lohan Allegedly Helping Matthew Perry Sober Up
Lindsay Lohan allegedly offered to lend Matthew Perry a helping hand after the actor fell off the wagon again.
In its July 4 issue, In Touch Weekly claimed that Lohan and Perry’s friendship goes a long way back. Even though there’s quite a huge age gap between the A-listers, Lohan and Perry used to party together in Los Angeles.
And now that the former child star is sober, she wants to help Perry get back on track.
“Those close to Matthew are worried that without a solid support system, his demons could return. They go way back from their partying days in LA, so she knows exactly what he’s going through. Lindsay has her life together now and she’s determined to help her old friend stay clean and sober,” the source said.
To make their story more convincing, the tabloid published a photo of Perry looking disheveled. However, it is important to note that the snap wasn’t taken recently.
Perry already lost a considerable amount of weight in recent years. And this was evidenced by his recent appearance at the Friends reunion.
Still, multiple tabloids insist that Perry continues to struggle with his sobriety. And what’s worse is that his Friends and co-stars do not allegedly support him.
In March, Globe claimed that Perry ended his sobriety following his split from his former fiancée, Molly Hurwitz.
“Matt’s been something of a black sheep of the cast for years now, not quite on the same level as Matthew [Perry] but lame enough to have Jen and Courteney rolling their eyes and wanting nothing much to do with him. He’s a very downbeat and schlubby character and they just don’t want that type of guy at the dinner table,” the source said.
Weeks later, Perry made headlines after he announced that he was working on his memoir. New Idea claimed that Perry’s co-stars are worried about what he could expose about them. And Jennifer Aniston is especially concerned because Perry knows a ton of her secrets.
However, one should take all these claims with a grain of salt. Perry has not fallen off the wagon, and there’s also no proof that he and Lohan are good friends.
It’s not also true that Perry stopped being sober following his split from Hurwitz or that his memoir would expose the dirt on his Friends' co-stars.
