Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Divorce Rumors Branded ‘Baseless’ After Fact-Checkers Dismiss Claims
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry face another wave of false claims and rumors. But, fact-checkers have dismissed the latest reports about the pair, especially their marriage.
Express UK said the allegations centered on the former working royals’ supposed divorce. It noted that a “vicious” headline claimed that the two personalities had signed divorce papers following Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
It consequently explained that the rumors emerged via a video posted on social media platforms. Apart from the divorce allegations, the post also reportedly features criticisms toward the Duchess of Sussex.
After the questionable headline about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s marriage made rounds on media platforms, fact-checking site PolitiFact flagged the post as “false.” It also clarified and emphasized that the former working royals “did not get divorced.”
In its findings, the platform said that the post “claims to offer up juicy details” about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. It countered, however, that “it does not provide any credible evidence that any of this is actually true.”
Later in the report, it pointed out that the rumors and assertions about the former actress and the royal-born Prince are “baseless.”
This is not the first time Prince Harry and Meghan Markle faced divorce rumors and speculations. They seemingly encountered similar claims earlier in March, with a supposed source alleging that their marriage was “headed for the rocks.”
Gossip Cop set the story straight and noted that none of the claims were true. It also asserted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “stay together because they are in love.”
The reputed publication later called out the outlet that published the allegations for its “bogus stories” about the former working royals. It noted, as well, that the former actress and her husband were “punching bags for tabloids," seemingly implying that they were always targeted by false claims.
Despite all the allegations and bogus reports, though, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do not seemingly acknowledge them. They appear to continue living their lives far from the spotlight, as much as possible.
Meanwhile, the pair was spotted at a polo game in California over the weekend. The Duchess of Sussex supported the Duke of Sussex during the match with the Los Padres team, according to People.
The former working royals’ recent outing came a few weeks after they flew to the United Kingdom for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. They attended some of the events, along with other members of the British Royal Family.
