Prince William Surprised Royal Fans After Going Undercover As A Magazine Seller In London
Prince William surprised royal fans in London after they spotted him selling magazines on the street.
According to Daily Mail, Kensington Palace did not announce Prince William’s latest gig to prevent royal fans from flocking the magazine store. But the Duke of Cambridge was there as part of his charitable efforts.
For the outing, the dad of three donned a red seller’s uniform complete with a vest, hat, and an identification card.
Even though the engagement was supposed to be a low-key event, it didn’t take royal fans very long to realize that it was Prince William selling the Big Issue magazine. In fact, some of them commented that they thought he looked like a celebrity.
The Duke of Cambridge also posed for photos for those that wanted to take snaps with him. And one of the first people to post his photo with the future king was retired Met Police chief superintendent Matthew Gardner.
He said that his brother-in-law also had the opportunity to meet Prince William after thinking that he was about to meet a celebrity. But upon closer inspection, it was the second in line to the throne and happily posed with everyone.
“What an honor to have a private moment with our future king who was humble and working quietly in the background, helping the neediest. These 'silent gestures' often go unrecognized,” he said (via Daily Mail).
Meanwhile, Prince William also made headlines last week during the queen’s Platinum Jubilee. He was photographed riding a horse that was allegedly sedated so that it would transport him to Buckingham Palace as slowly as possible.
The Duke of Cambridge didn’t respond to the rumors. Instead, he focused all his attention on Queen Elizabeth, who marked her 70 years of service days ago.
In related news, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton also received criticisms following their son, Prince Louis’ behavior during the Platinum Jubilee.
Some royal fans claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge could’ve handled Prince Louis’s behavior much better than they did.
The 4-year-old refused to listen to his parents. And he even made faces at Middleton on at least two occasions. And when the mom of three reprimanded him, Prince Louis covered his mom’s mouth.
Prince Louis also acted out during the flypast and even Queen Elizabeth tried to control him but failed.
